DROPSHIPPING | What you need to know

If you are new to drop shipping, click here to read the general overview on Wiki.

Let's say you understand to concept of drop shipping.  In a perfect world, it sounds like a solid plan that has no pitfalls.  For a guy who has created 5 different drop shipping store, I can tell you it's not as profitable as you think.  It's not all bad new, though.  You can make money without ever really housing these products.  Just do not come into this thinking you'll become a millionaire.  Here are some things to keep aware of:

Quality
There are many instances where consumers associate Chinese products as cheap.  There is some truth to that, but if you find the right manufacturer, the quality will be the last of your worries.

Customer Service
Be prepared to speak or interact with the least helpful people out there.  There are many that claim they are extremely friendly.  They are all lies! Then again, there is always a bad apple in every tree.

Shipping
The great things about drop shipping is that you do not have to worry about logistics.  They take care of the entire shipping process.  The negative side to it is that drop shippers have

Profit Margin
Unless you are selling a large number of products, the profit margin isn't as glamorous as it advertises it to be.  To get a strong, high profit margin, it's better to buy in bulk.  Even though it may be expensive at the beginning to purchase items upfront, you'll reap from the benefits down the road.

Here are some general drop shipper companies who I think is worth doing business with:

INBOXDOLLARS | Is this website really worth it?

I have been using InboxDollars for a little over a week now and I have mixed emotions. The ability to make money is there, but it's so boring! I appreciate the fact they try to make it exciting with "Spin the Wheel" options but the surveys are so dreadful to complete. The rewards start from $0.01 which for that rate, I think it's easier to panhandle...but it's not all bad news.  There are some options that are incredibly entertaining.  Here's a break down on the options that are given to us.

Surveys
If you like to take surveys, this will be heaven. I thought the surveys were entertaining when I first started, but now it's just repetitive. I've also noticed some questions are really personal. Be prepared to give information like your social media urls and zip codes. If you can overlook that, then continue on. I just finished a survey that took over 45 minutes to make $5.25. I'm practically working $5.25 per hour so be ready to stare at your computer for long periods of time.  The upside to surveys are videos!

Videos
So I think the video tab is misleading.  It's not like you are surfing YouTube and you get paid.  They are a lot more interactive.  For example, I clicked on a video offer that is practically "clicking next."  It's hard to explain.  It's one of those things that you have to check for yourself.  These are definitely a lot more enjoyable than the surveys and pays out moderately.

Search
This option is pretty awesome.  If you don't mind putting Google to the side, this will be the easiest of all the options to make money.  There's a maximum $0.15 per day on searching but it beats not getting paid at all  through other search engines.

Those are really the only 3 options you have to make money without investing money.  There are other options that require you to use credit cards.  I typically skip those because no matter how "secure" a website can be, there's always a possibility something may happen.  Hope this blog helps for those who is considering InboxDollar.  Click on this link to sign up and receive an extra $5 added to your account: http://www.inboxdollars.com/?r=ref18221371

REWORK | If you're an entrepreneur...read this

I read a lot of books.  I'm usually a John C. Maxwell kind of reader (If you don't know him, then go back to your room and do research).  I've always been fascinated with self-help books.  The 21 Irrefutable Laws of Leadership will always be one of my favorite books.  So, I started researching which new book I should read and the word "Rework" was being mentioned everywhere.  By trade, I am an entrepreneur so I decided to give it a read.  It was a New York Times Bestseller and it was written by the founders of 37 Signals (Jason Fried & David Heinemeier Hansson). Well...it was worth it.  I literally could not put the book down.

The book isn't perfect, but it's definitely different.  I've picked up countless books that talk about how you should get a business plan and write down numbers that you think you can hit in the next five years.  There are also books that show you what to do to get approved for a bank loan.  Well, Rework doesn't do that.  On the contrary, it tells you to stop thinking that way and I agree.

We live in a new age and everything evolves.  Why use the traditional form of business in time where everything is so technologically advanced?  I was surprised to find myself doing traditional things.  Call it nostalgia, but after I read this book, I had to reevaluate all my strategies.

Not only that but I feel like the book has helped me in my married life, too.  For those of you who don't know I am a young Web/Graphic Designer who married even younger, but here's the kicker .... I married out of LOVE.  No children was needed to make us elope.  But I felt myself getting consumed by work, and I unconsciously liked it.  Then I read this:
"Workaholics aren't heroes.  They don't save the day, they just use it up.  The real hero is already at home because she figured out a way to get things done."
I have highlighted so many great phrases from this book that I'm eager to show all of my fellow entrepreneurs.  If you've read the book, comment below on what were you favorite parts.  If not... get on reading!!

SliceThePie.com | Is It a Scam or the Perfect Calling?

It's Monday morning and I woke up to the sad realization that I have no steady cash flow coming in.  Was I scared? -- Hell yeah.  So I logged into my freelancer account and started hunting for projects.  I luckily came across a website that supposedly paid out money for reviewing songs.  I was hesitant at first.  If you are reading this, then you are like me.  You've signed up for many different websites claiming they will pay you cash to fill out surveys.  This is not the case for SliceThePie.

The one thing I love about this site is that there was no credit card at sign up.  I always stray away from websites like that.  Right from the get-go you start reviewing music from up and coming artists.  I will admit, there are some songs that make you clench, but others are really good.  I'm all about indie music so it would've been great if they included a link to their songs on iTunes or Google Music.

Don't expect this to be a full time job.  I usually make around 7 to 9 cents per review.  The one thing it does do it add some good side change.  I'm a freelance graphic/web designer so that is my bread and butter, but like every main entree, you need a good side item to compliment it.  That's what SliceThePie is.  Out of all the other online scams, and websites asking for credit cards, this bright light outshines the competition.
